Silhouette CameoHello Friends! Welcome back to the second week of Mojo Busters! My Scrappy friends and I have gotten together to create a series which will hopefully provide some inspiration for you when you need it.
This week we are working on Hannah’s challenge. Her challenge is to use a photo as inspiration. In my case, brand new photos, meaning photos recently taken, are my favorite to scrap. Sometimes, I come across an older photo and inspiration strikes. A photo can also inspire you to use things in your stash. Sometimes the colors in a photo can remind us of a specific collection or embellishment we own.
For this challenge I am using a photo of my grandparents. It was taken back in 1956. My mom came across this photo a few weeks ago. My grandparents have both passed and I miss them very much, it only made sense to add photos of them to my albums. I made a copy of the photo, printed it in black and white and got started.
For some reason this photo made me think of of the Love Always collection by Cocoa Vanilla. I used my silhouette cameo to cut out a beautiful heart cut file available for download from Bea Valint’s Blog. I nestled my photo in between two loops in the heart cut file.
I then created clusters of flowers underneath the photo and the heart. I also incorporated some leaf cut files which I had sitting on my desk. I had cut both the heart and the leaves on White American Crafts Textured Cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo.
For my tittle, I used some letter wood veneers from my stash and painted them a light grey with some watercolors. I also used the word Love from the Cocoa Vanilla Ephemera Pack.
I love how this turned out. It came together very quickly. The picture really did inspire me. it inspired the feel of my layout as well as the products I used.
